Help okay, the accusations, no.

Two days after Emmanuel Macron's inflammatory speech, who accused the entire Lebanese class of "collective treason", the leader of Hezbollah, the powerful Lebanese Shiite party, reacted strongly on Tuesday (September 29).

If Hassan Nasrallah welcomed France's initiative, he stressed that this did not allow the French president to behave as head of state of Lebanon.

"We always welcome the French initiative (...) but the intimidation of the last month must not continue," Nasrallah said in a televised speech.

"We do not accept your accusation of treason (...) We reject and condemn this condescending behavior", he added.

The Amal movement also "surprised"

Earlier today, it was the Amal movement that reacted to Emmanuel Macron's statements, the latter having partly blamed the Shiite tandem for the resignation of Prime Minister-designate Moustapha Adib.

"The movement, while respecting the role played by French President Macron, is surprised by the remarks he made, in particular about the accusations and the special responsibility" that he attributed to him, as well as to Hezbollah , he said in a statement.

The Shiite tandem made up of Hezbollah and the Amal movement has indeed blocked the formation of a new government in Lebanon, by their demand to see the post of Minister of Finance be attributed to a person from their community.

Macron called on Hezbollah for a "clarification"

The French president, heavily involved in the Lebanese crisis, denounced Sunday, during a press conference, a "collective betrayal" of the Lebanese political class, unable to agree on a "mission government" then, a- he said, that she had made a commitment in early September.

He also called on Hezbollah for a "clarification".

"Hezbollah cannot at the same time be an army at war against Israel, a militia unleashed against civilians in Syria and a respectable party in Lebanon," he said.
