[Explanation] In June 2019, a parade in Hong Kong kicked off the prelude to the "Regulation Amendment Disturbance". Since then, it has intensified. Radical demonstrators arson, smashed and destroyed all districts in Hong Kong, disrupting social order and destroying the economy and people’s livelihood. Young people in Hong Kong are also caught up in it, embarking on a deviated life trajectory.

Ah Wei is one of them.

[Explanation] A Wei, 24 years old this year, is a native of Hong Kong. He just returned to Hong Kong from school in Singapore last year.

The moment he set foot on Hong Kong, he saw a picture that he will never forget.

When I came back in August, I happened to encounter an airport congestion incident. I couldn't imagine it when I looked at the online pictures, but I was surprised after experiencing that time.

Later (riots) became more and more intense. We saw a lot of conflict scenes and scenes of arson. I felt very nervous as a whole. I often sleep and have nightmares, because you will remember the (violent) scenes you saw during the day. The panic.

[Explanation] The "airport congestion" incident mentioned by Ah Wei occurred in mid-August 2019. Radical protesters rushed into the Hong Kong International Airport, shouted loudly, blocked the departure channel, forced the cancellation of hundreds of planes, and countless passengers. Detained at the airport.

Since then, Hong Kong's "Regulations Amendment Disturbance" has gradually gotten out of control, and the behavior of demonstrators has become more radical.

This made Ah Wei realize that the nature of the so-called "striving for justice" has changed.

We don't like people to destroy our homes. I find it sad because it is very difficult to build, but it may only take a moment to destroy.

[Explanation] By chance, he became an assistant to a district councillor in the opposition camp.

It was this experience that made him firm to cut his seat with "Yellow Silk".

Assistant work is no longer as simple as just helping residents. In many cases, the criteria for things are too politicized. Sometimes the district council grants money to different non-governmental community organizations to do things. They start to become, they must be Huang Ying. Only those who criticize the blue camp, some of them may not be so politicized themselves, they are really doing good for the people, and they also do not criticize, it is purely because of different political positions, which affects the lives of many people.

[Explanation] In such an environment, Ah Wei became more and more impatient and extreme.

At this time, a teacher shared videos and articles on social platforms that made his mood begin to change.

I started to read their articles and videos and found it very meaningful. Although their positions are different, I see that their starting points are similar. I hope that Hong Kong is better, and I started to understand their ideas better. I also chatted with people with similar positions. Began to understand that not everything is so extreme.

[Explanation] As more and more young people are facing legal sanctions or even fleeing overseas for participating in gangster violence, Ah Wei feels very heartbroken, so he chooses to stand up bravely, hoping that young people who are incited can think more about what is behind the inciter Motivation, I also hope that the agitator will stop hurting Hong Kong youth for their own benefit.

I think it’s normal for everyone to have their own standpoint, but don’t do to others what you don’t want to do, and really don’t let others do it, because parents have worked so hard to raise their children. You don’t want your children to be like this. If you let them collide, they will suffer and go to other places, but the people who encourage others behind are sitting there and enjoying their lives, earning more than 100,000 yuan a month.

I hope that even if we have a stand, we will not encourage everyone to do such a thing.

[Explanation] Now, Ah Wei has submitted his resignation. He said that at that moment, he was "relieved", hoping to find a normal and rational job and live a stable and stable life. He also hopes that Hong Kong can restore peace and everyone can live and work in peace.

I have been away for a while, and will find a normal job to adjust slowly.

Although there are many things I still don't understand, I hope I can go to the mainland to learn more after I have the opportunity to pass customs.

I very much hope that Hong Kong will gradually normalize. This is not a responsibility for a specific group, but for everyone. When everyone is willing to contribute, it is a very powerful force.
