Father lost his job due to "Corona"

11,000 dirhams prevented the children of “Umm Muhammad” from completing their studies

The family of (Umm Muhammad - Syria - 37 years old) is unable to pay 11,155 dirhams in school arrears for its four children (Dima, Muhammad, Omar, and Ahmed), due to the father losing his job, which led to the deprivation of them to continue their educational journey for the new year.

The family appeals to the people of good and merciful hearts to extend their help and assistance to pay off school arrears.

Umm Muhammad told Emirates Today: “The situation of our family was affordable during the past years, but at the beginning of this year we faced many obstacles and financial difficulties, which led to the accumulation of school arrears on my four children and their suspension from their studies.”

"The school administration sent us several warnings asking us to pay the accumulated school arrears, and it told us to prevent my children from joining the classes for the new year if the previous fees were not paid," she added.

And she continued: “I cannot explain to my children the circumstances that we faced during the current year, and how I justify their denial of their right to education, and that their father has become completely unable to pay school arrears for the past year, after losing his job in March of this year due to the (Corona) pandemic, And accumulated debts on our shoulders, and the amount of money that he saved during his years of work was a bond for us to pay the rent of the house and the expenses of food and drink ».

And she continued: “I see my children in sadness, and their questions are many about their return to school like the rest of their friends, and I cannot see them having the education train stopped with them while they are at the beginning of their school path, as Dima (17 years old) studies in the 11th grade, and Muhammad (12 years old) studies In the eighth grade, Omar and Ahmed are twins (10 years old) who are studying in the fifth grade of primary school, and all of them are excellent. ”

She said: “My husband knocked on many doors to work in multiple sectors, and he was unsuccessful, and the family became without a fixed income, as I used to prepare some pastries and foods and sell them to family and friends so that we can manage our daily sustenance, and we used to get simple assistance from a neighbor that meets the needs of My children have food and drink only, and I appeal to people of merciful hearts and good people to provide us with assistance, and pay off school arrears for my children.
