On September 27, a super large diameter shield machine with a maximum excavation diameter of 16.07 meters rolled off the assembly line in Changsha, Hunan. This is the largest diameter shield machine developed by China so far.
The shield machine is jointly developed by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway 14th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. It is the first time that a Chinese enterprise has successfully realized the industrial manufacturing of a 16-meter-class super large diameter shield machine.
This "Big Mac" equipment is 150 meters long and has a total weight of 4,300 tons. It is like a steel dragon lying workshop. The cutter head painting is based on the red face mask in Peking Opera.
The equipment is named "Jinghua" and will participate in the reconstruction project of Beijing East Sixth Ring after leaving the factory.
