The macabre series seems to continue.

On Friday, the Vitré gendarmes were called to Livré-sur-Changeon (Ille-et-Vilaine) by a horse owner.

In the morning, the latter had found one of his dead foals in the middle of a field.

It seems that the young animal was the victim of ignoble mutilations.

According to Ouest-France, the foal had an open stomach, revealing a part extracted from its organs.

He had severed testicles and a severed ear.

France 3 Bretagne adds that the death would go back a few hours and that the animal was killed around 6 a.m. the same morning.

Investigators, however, remain cautious about the circumstances of the tragedy, ensuring "do not rule out any leads".

Cases of mutilated animals have been increasing in France for several months.

This strange yet unexplained phenomenon has accelerated in recent weeks.

Several cases of mutilated horses and cows have already been reported in Brittany.

The gendarmes opened several investigations to try to shed light on these cases.
