New Corona Administers blood components of recovered people to patients Approved in clinical study September 26, 11:49

In a clinical study conducted by the National Center for Global Health and Medicine on "recovery plasma treatment" that administers blood components of people who have already recovered to patients with new coronavirus, administration to actual patients is carried out by the internal ethics committee. It turned out to be approved.

"Recovery plasma treatment" is to extract a component called "plasma" containing antibodies from the blood of a recovered person and administer it to another patient with the new type of coronavirus, and research is progressing in each country. Emergency use is permitted in the United States.

In Japan, the National Center for Global Health and Medicine is conducting research, and it means that 60 people who have recovered so far have collected "plasma".

According to the center, the internal ethics committee officially approved the administration to actual patients on the 15th of this month.

In a clinical study, about 60 moderately ill patients who need oxygen inhalation will be given "plasma", which has been confirmed to be at no risk of another infectious disease, to investigate its safety and efficacy.

Dr. Satoshi Kutsuna of the National Center for Global Health and Medicine, who is in charge of the research, said, "In the absence of a silver bullet, it is very meaningful to confirm the efficacy and safety as one of the treatment methods. It depends on the future epidemic situation, but the research will be done as soon as possible. I want to proceed and carefully verify the effect. "
