First snowfall at Asahidake in the Daisetsu Mountains, the highest peak in Hokkaido September 26, 14:27

The first snowfall was observed on the morning of the 26th at Mt. Asahidake in the Daisetsu Mountains, the highest peak in Hokkaido.

It is one day later than normal and five days later than last year.

At Asahidake, the highest altitude in Hokkaido at 2291 meters, it was confirmed that the area near the summit was covered with snow around 9:30 on the 26th, and the Asahikawa Local Meteorological Observatory announced that it had "observed the first snowfall."



According to the Meteorological Observatory, from the morning of the 25th to the 26th, cold air from late September to early October entered the sky above Hokkaido and snowed near the summit of Mt. Asahidake, which has a high altitude.



The first snowfall of Mt. Asahidake is one day later than normal and five days later than last year.
