Happy birthday, Bruce Springsteen!

Until the pandemic, our October cover star and the E Street Band were supposed to start a world tour in spring 2021. Now, he says, "I'm going to consider myself lucky if I lose just a year of touring life."

“I was like 'My God, thank you'.

Then I took a quick look and it looked like a good guitar, so I hopped in my car with it, ”the artist recalled.

A sense of mortality

Soon after, Bruce Springsteen left to visit an old friend, George Theiss, who he had played with in the past and who had just recovered from lung cancer.

It was on leaving that the artist, who has already deplored the disappearance of two of the members of the E Street Band, was invaded by thoughts related to mortality.

When he got home, in the spring of 2019, he simply picked up this guitar and started composing.

“I wrote all the songs on the album with it.

In maybe less than 10 days.

I just wandered around the house through the rooms, and wrote one song a day, ”added Bruce Springsteen.
