Most of the future residents come from Rouen and its surroundings, but two of the units will be occupied by residents of the Paris region.

They were collected by word of mouth or specialized websites.

The participants in this joint project are still looking for other future neighbors and would ideally like to see two families join them.

They also know how to rent homes that have not found buyers.

Intimate accommodations and shared areas

Those concerned will baptize their participatory housing Ilot Effel, in reference to the name of the place they will invest, the former Jean-Effel municipal school.

The building will be transformed to offer residents private accommodation preserving their privacy and areas to share, open to all residents.

"What could be experienced as a renunciation of a certain comfort, with less private space, is largely offset by the quality of the neighborhood relationships and all the little extras that we have collectively designed", testifies Dominique Varin, one of the first volunteers.

Agnès, another participant in the project, highlights “human-sized copro meetings where everyone can express themselves to enrich the project and jointly adjust some operating rules…”.

Two architects working in collaboration are in charge of the building permit and modifications.
