Since the start of the school year, some college and high school students in Normandy have still not had any sports lessons, for lack of teachers.

The teaching union Snep-FSU sent a letter to the rectorate to denounce this situation, reports

Paris-Normandy

.

“In this new school year, there are nine teachers in establishments, and fifteen replacements.

This is unheard of, notes, bitterly, Éric Joufret, academic co-secretary of Snep-FSU.

And things are not going to get better, with the new wave of the coronavirus, other work stoppages are to be expected.

We need replacements!

".

According to the union, there is no shortage of students in Staps.

It would therefore simply be necessary to open more places in the competition to solve the problem.

The closing of gymnasiums worries

For the time being, the rectorate has not reacted to this letter, indicates

Paris-Normandy

.

Some teachers are worried, while students have practically no sporting activity since confinement.

In addition to this staffing problem, there is also the closure of gymnasiums announced by the government in certain cities, such as Rouen.

However, some schools do not have their own equipment.

The Snep-FSU therefore requests a derogation in order not to deprive the students of sports practice.

An answer must be provided by the prefecture.
