  On the evening of June 26 last year, the Wan Chai police headquarters in Hong Kong was surrounded by protesters. The 26-year-old construction worker Shun Xiaolin was suspected of participating in the riot and assaulting a plainclothes male police officer.

Last Thursday, the defendant was convicted of riots and ordinary assaults after being tried in the Hong Kong District Court.

The judge adjourned the case to today (25th), and finally decided to sentence the defendant to 4 years in prison.
