"Streltsov"

In the second full-length film by Ilya Uchitel, several trends in Russian and world cinema met at once.

Streltsov has a chance to refresh its line of films about athletes, which includes such distribution hits as Movement Up and Ice.

The story of the prodigy from football, “Soviet Pele” may well be among biographical films with a competitive spirit like “Lev Yashin.

The goalkeeper of my dreams ”or“ Ford vs. Ferrari ”.

At the same time, the film about Streltsov touches on the topic of the relationship between men and women in the legal field: the hero's career was hopelessly ruined when the football player was sentenced to 12 years in prison on charges of rape.

To this day, many believe that the athlete did not commit a crime.

Ilya Uchitel adheres to the same version.

The main role in the film was played by Alexander Petrov.

Interestingly, as a child, the actor was seriously interested in football and dreamed of becoming an athlete.

Streltsov's beloved was played by Stasya Miloslavskaya, with whom Petrov meets in real life - and from this it will be even more interesting to observe the relations of the heroes.

The Nest

Sean Durkin, winner of the Sundance Festival for Best Director, nine years after the premiere of his previous feature film (Martha, Marcy May, Marlene), presents a new festival drama - The Nest.

The film starring Jude Law and Carrie Kuhn was shown at the same Sundance and at the Deauville American Film Festival.

At the last forum, the director was awarded three awards, including the grand prix.

The events of the tape unfold in the mid-1980s, at the height of the introduction of financial market deregulation programs, when American companies had the opportunity to enter the British securities market.

Rory (Lowe) is an American entrepreneur.

At first glance, he has everything he needs for a happy life: a successful business, a big house and a loving family.

At the same time, Rory decides to leave the States and move with his wife (Kuhn) and children to England in order to explore new business opportunities and further increase his fortune.

However, life in another country turns out to be much more difficult than expected.

The heroes face serious financial and psychological problems, and now their family is on the verge of collapse.

At first glance, The Nest is a family drama in the spirit of Noah Baumback's Marriage Story, with a colorful Old England vibe.

However, Variety film critic Peter Debridge notes the similarity of the film to Stanley Kubrick's cult horror film The Shining.

According to him, two seemingly different pictures are similar "in the severity of the psychological trauma that a selfish father inflicts on his family."

"Made in Italy" (Made in Italy)

In Made in Italy, director and screenwriter James D'Arcy brings the true story of actors Liam Neeson and Michael Richardson to the screen.

In life, they are father and son to each other, and also do the same thing (with the only difference that the heroes of the film are artists).

Like their characters, the artists went through a family tragedy.

In March 2009, after an accident, Natasha Richardson, Liam's wife and Michael's mother, died.

In the film, Jack (Richardson) renews his relationship with his father (Neeson) to sell the family home in Tuscany.

The dwelling has been empty since the death of the mother (that is, for about 20 years), since the memories of the time spent there are too painful for the heroes.

During the renovation, they will have to rebuild relationships with each other and make new promising acquaintances.

Despite the fact that the sad events became the starting point of the plot, the tape is positioned as a comedy.

Critics did not take this film too loyally.

RogerEbert.com columnist Christie Lemier said the film was "beautifully shot, but emotionally inconsistent."

And Varitey author Tomris Luffley described "Made in Italy" as "a repulsive sugary tale of a belated rapprochement between a divorced father and his only son."

"Undine"

The world premiere of the film "Ondine" by Christian Petzold took place at the Berlin Film Festival in 2020.

The film took part in the main competition and won the prize of the International Federation of Film Press FIPRESCI, and the leading role, Paula Ber, was awarded the Silver Bear.

According to the plot, Ondine (Ber) is a historian who works as a tour guide in Berlin.

As is usually the case with mermaids, she is unhappy in love.

Moreover, the heroine from the very beginning says that she will have to kill a traitor who did not value romantic relationships.

However, the girl soon meets the industrial diver Christoph (Franz Rogowski).

The possibility of cloudless happiness is clouded by the fact that one way or another, Undine will have to deal with her past to the end.

While working on the film, Petzold, who also wrote the script, relied on myths and fairy tales, as well as Ingeborg Bachmann's story "Undine Leaves."

At the same time, the author tells his own love story, where the heroine is allowed to break some rules.

The mystical coincidences and fantastic plot moves in Petzold's film counterbalance prosaic reflections on urban policy in the German capital.

"Claustrophobes: Quest in Moscow" (Follow Me)

The film "Claustrophobes: Quest in Moscow" was directed by Will Wernick, who directed the 2017 film "Claustrophobia".

He also wrote the script for a new picture.

The director's fresh project is not a sequel to his previous work, but a completely independent film.

However, these tapes are united not only by the name of the director, but also by the theme - survival quests.

The main character of the 2020 film, a popular blogger who became famous for participating in various kinds of dangerous trials, will try to go through a complex personalized quest.

Its progress will be watched live by a multi-million audience.

Apparently, in the new tape, Will Wernick decided to raise the problem of addiction to social networks, which often create a false image of people's lives.

“I think what is happening in the quest room is a reflection of the real life of the character.

In this space, he creates an alternative reality for himself - just like we all act on social networks, ”the director explained in an interview published on the Quiet Earth portal.

The roles in the film were played by Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars), Ronen Rubinstein (Replacement Teacher), Holland Roden (Grey's Anatomy) and other actors.

"Belka and Strelka: Caribbean Mystery"

Belka and Strelka: The Caribbean Secret is the third part of the Russian animation franchise about dogs that have been in space.

The adventure series is known both at home and abroad: the first two films - "Star Dogs" and "Lunar Adventures" - were shown in more than 160 countries.

According to the producer of the KinoAtis studio Vadim Sotskov, the new film has also already attracted the interest of foreign distributors.

Unlike the first two pictures in the series, in the third one the events will unfold mainly under water - in the Atlantic Ocean.

There, the "star" dogs, already familiar to the audience, will have to deal with a mysterious anomaly.

Yevgeny Mironov, Sergey Burunov, Sergey Shnurov, Yulia Peresild and Irina Pegova gave their voices to the cartoon characters.

As the creators of the tape note, there is an educational component in it: young viewers will be able to learn a lot about the underwater world and environmental problems.
