Better to prevent.

On Tuesday, the Aisne prefecture published a list of measures to combat the rebound in the coronavirus epidemic.

If the health situation of the department seems less bad than in the rest of the Hauts-de-France region, the state services have however noted a significant deterioration in recent weeks.

"The situation in Axon is therefore better than the national and regional average, but the indicators have deteriorated significantly since the beginning of September", assures the prefecture.

In Aisne, the disease incidence rate is 45, against 87 nationally and nearly 140 for the Nord department.

The Aisne is not yet in the red zone and the prefect wishes to delay the inevitable as much as possible.

Mask, bars and private parties

To do this, the wearing of a mask has been declared compulsory in the town centers of Saint-Quentin and Soissons, territories in which the alert threshold has been exceeded.

The decision takes effect on Wednesday.

This complements the obligations already in force, particularly in transport, public services, businesses and even around schools.

Like what has already been done in Nord or Pas-de-Calais, the drinking establishments of the Aisne are seeing their opening hours reduced.

The reference time will now be 1 a.m., all exemptions to go beyond that have been suspended.

However, this concerns, according to the prefecture, "only fifteen establishments" in the department.

It should be noted that five establishments have been the subject of a "formal notice for temporary closure" for non-compliance with health measures.

The most unexpected measure concerns private parties.

As it is difficult to prevent people from having fun at home, the prefect asked the local authorities to no longer "make available free of charge or against payment of equipment or public spaces for private parties.

"An" invitation "which could well send back to the Greek calendar a package of communions, weddings, birthdays planned in the halls.
