[Explanation] Meng Zhao, who is now 94 years old, has experienced the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation.

On November 4, 1952, as the chief of staff of the 32nd Division Tank Regiment, Meng Zhao took a train with tanks to the battlefield to resist the US and aggression against Korea.

[Explanation] In the Tenth Retreat for Resigning Cadres in Shenyang, Liaoning Province Military Region, Meng Zhao personally talked about the experience of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, and he still remembers fresh.

In the early morning of November 5, 1952, the train that Meng Zhao was on arrived at the scheduled area-a temporary platform east of Sucheon Railway Station on the west coast of North Korea.

How to dodge the enemy's attack and drive the tank to the assembly area smoothly is the first problem Meng Zhao encountered after entering the country.

If you turn on the lights and go, have a goal.

The soldier turned his coat over, ran ahead, and the tank drove forward. How slow was that?

It's not that there is no way. Our biggest problem during the War of Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (during the period) was that we could not manage the enemy's air force.

Before dawn, they were evacuated. As far as a tank was from a tank, it was camouflaged by the edge of a mountain.

[Commentary] Meng Zhaoshen told reporters that due to the equipment gap, the volunteer soldiers were very helpless in the face of the enemy's air force, but they did not wait to die.

Instead, he gave full play to his bold technical and tactical ability.

The pilot was fighting with the enemy's plane. He came out and ran for a car. The plane was going to blow him up.

He hurried away quickly, drove very fast, he stopped abruptly, turned his head and ran back, his (enemy) plane was different, the plane had to go around in a big circle and call him in a big circle Go there again.

Just fight back and forth.

[Explanation] The tank regiment arrived at Pingkang, the designated area, with difficulty.

Pingkang is about 15 kilometers west of Shangganling and is also the gateway for the enemy to attack our army.

After entering the position, Meng Zhaoshen and his comrades were surprised to find that the positions of the two armies were very close, only a few hundred meters away.

The enemy tank is standing on the mountain, we can see it clearly (very clearly).

The soldiers took off their clothes and soaked in the sun, and we had no choice but to be arrogant.

What will happen to the result?

We (the tanks) are used as artillery, and they are on a position in advance. Their tanks are here. We are here. To dig the fortifications, you have to dig the fortifications first.

In the evening, then the tank drove into the fortification.

One of our tanks wants to hit his (enemy) two tanks. We will take aim at the beginning, and we will start fighting at 5 o'clock (17 o'clock).

[Explanation] In this area, Meng Zhao and his comrades persisted until July 1953.

Excellent completion of the combat mission.

As the first group of Chinese tank soldiers to fight in North Korea, Meng Zhao was wounded five times and died nine times. Before retiring, he was the former deputy commander of the armored forces of the Shenyang Military Region.

Compared with the hardships and sufferings of those years, Meng Zhaoshen is even more proud of the war that wielded New China's national and military power!
