Because of "Corona" ... the Metropolitan Opera in New York will remain closed for another year

The iconic Metropolitan Opera in New York canceled its next season completely on Wednesday and said it would remain closed until September 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We regret to inform you that the Metropolitan Opera made the very difficult decision to cancel the entire 2021-2020 season, on the advice of health officials who are advising the Mitt and Lincoln Center," where the opera is based, the foundation said in a statement.

Coronavirus is imposing unprecedented challenges on venues that offer live entertainment.

The center's operators decided they could not resume offers while the virus posed a threat.

Operators of Broadway theaters, one of New York's biggest tourist attractions, are currently aiming to reopen in January 2021.
