House of the Dragon
, will be released as planned in 2022 despite the coronavirus pandemic, HBO boss Casey Bloys has confirmed to US site Deadline.
Ten episodes of this prequel to the cult HBO series on House Targaryen have already been ordered.
This new series takes place 300 years before the events of Robert Baratheon's rebellion.
She will follow an ancestor of Daenerys, King Aegon I, also called Aegon the Conqueror, founder of the Targaryen dynasty and very first ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal will be the two
showrunners
in the series.
