  Huzhong District is located in the northern foothills of Yilahuli Mountain in the Greater Xing’an Mountains, with an average elevation of 810 meters and a frost-free period of only 83 days. The lowest temperature in the history of the town is -53.2℃, and the annual average temperature is only -4.3℃. Around the sky, it has the title of "China's Coldest Town".

More than 50,000 tons of coal is used for heating in Huzhong District each year. In the "March 9th" weather, more than 350 tons of coal are used for heating every day.

  In the early morning of the 23rd, there was a busy scene in the boiler room of the heating center in Huzhong District. Workers were unloading coal, and the coal on the conveyor belt in the coal room was continuously transported to the boiler.

At 8:58, the boiler squad leader ignited the coal in the boiler furnace and started heating work this winter.

  Li Weidong, deputy director of the Huzhong District Heating Center, said: “As the weather gradually turns cold, the Huzhong District Heating Center has started a heating period of more than eight months from today to ensure that tourists and local residents live in warm houses.”

  Li Weidong said that in order to allow the majority of heat users to live in warm houses this winter, after the end of the spring heating period, Huzhong District has invested a lot of manpower and material resources to repair and reform the heating pipe network.

In view of the uneven heating in the original rural community, hospital community, etc., based on the original 11 heat exchange stations, a new heat exchange station was built, 3 original heat exchange stations were renovated, and 6 heat exchangers were replaced. At the same time, the underground pipe network in post districts and other places was transformed, and the heating pipeline was replaced and repaired by more than 3,300 meters, laying a good foundation for heating this winter.

  The heating center of Huzhong District has also established a heating emergency command center and a full-time emergency repair team, and announced a 24-hour hotline to the public to solve various problems reported by residents in the first place.
