Dahua Theater was built in 1935 and is located in the heart of Xinjiekou, Nanjing.
At the beginning of its establishment, the Dahua Theater had the functions of film screening and opera performance. It was one of the important entertainment venues in the middle and upper class during the Republic of China. At that time, many famous opera actors performed here.
In 1936, Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang held a disaster relief performance at the Dahua Theater.
However, since its name was changed to "Dahua Cinema" in 1950, Dahua Theater has never performed operas or dramas.

The opening drama of "Dahua Theater·Group Theater" "Star Version" "Xi Jiao" starring Suo Mingfang, Han Shengcun, Li Hongtu, Huang Baixue, is scheduled for October 18th and 19th.
