“Everyone's responsibility will depend on the evolution of the epidemic”.

The Breton Regional Health Agency insists: the Covid-19 epidemic is experiencing a real rebound in the region and the population must be aware of it.

This Tuesday, the ARS therefore launched a solemn appeal to the inhabitants of the region by inviting them to "limit private meetings of more than ten people".

According to health authorities, "the circulation of the coronavirus is increasing in the region".

This is particularly the case in Rennes, where the incidence rate is around 150 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, three more than the regional average.

In an attempt to slow the spread, masks have been made compulsory across the city and bars are forced to close at 11 p.m.

Barrier gestures "even in our personal lives"

For the moment, gatherings of more than ten people are not prohibited, as is the case in Gironde, but not recommended.

"Health investigations emphasize that contaminations frequently occur during gatherings with friends or family, conducive to a relaxation of barrier gestures", insists the ARS, which evokes "a significant number of epidemic outbreaks", which occurred after festive events.

In Brittany, the incidence rate is on average 54 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the test positivity rate is 4.2%.

With this message, the ARS hopes to convince the population to respect the barrier gestures “the most effective protection against the spread of the virus” which should be adopted “even in our personal lives”.
