With a view to relieving congestion in analysis laboratories and shortening the timeframe for the results of Covid-19 tests, the Île-de-France ARS opened seven screening centers on Monday.

People who had difficulty finding a date are relieved.

REPORTAGE

Overcrowded laboratories and endless queues: it is extremely difficult to get tested for Covid-19 and the results are sometimes slow to arrive.

As of Monday, the ARS Île-de-France is opening seven additional screening and diagnostic centers in the region.

The objectives set by the Ministry of Health are clear: these centers must facilitate access to tests but also obtain results more quickly for priority people.

Results must be communicated within 48 hours.

"I think that we will significantly reduce the delays," said at the microphone of Europe 1 Aurélien Rousseau, Director General of the Regional Health Agency of Ile-de-France.

He estimates that he will be able to transmit the results in 24 hours within ten days.

"The whole point for laboratories is to be able to predict the queues of results arriving on their platforms and to identify these priority tests."

"They took me right away"

"[It's] very efficient, I'm quite surprised," confesses Oscar after going through one of the centers, located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, this Monday morning.

Since Friday, he has been coughing, has fever and body aches.

He hardly stood in line.

"Since Friday, (…) impossible to have an appointment to do the test. There, they took me right away."

To make sure patients aren't lying or exaggerating their symptoms, doctors line up the lines and ask a series of questions.

As a reminder, access to tests in these new centers is only possible on presentation of proof.

This can be a medical prescription in the event of symptoms, an SMS from Health Insurance or proof of work for healthcare professionals.
