The numbers of infected, hospitalized and deceased indicate that the second wave of the pandemic is hitting Spain with a virulence that is unparalleled in neighboring countries.

This is explained not only by the incitement of a minority part of the citizenry, but also by the inability of all public administrations - beginning with the Government - to enable the necessary measures to stop the transmission of the virus.

We are facing a country ruling that reveals the deficiencies of both the different levels of government and also the deficiencies of a health system that has not been provided with sufficient means in primary care.

As happened in March, Spain is once again the European epicenter of the coronavirus.

Such dishonor is due to Sánchez's insolvency when applying what he pompously defined as co-governance.

The Executive went from retaining special powers with the state of alarm to being inhibited to let only the autonomous communities deal with the necessary preventive measures.

Such political and administrative irresponsibility is compounded by the lack of cooperation, despite the recurrent conferences of presidents, and the absence of judgment, courage and determination to face the consequences of the pandemic.

The experts consulted by EL MUNDO, as we published today, point out that the chaotic planning of the de-escalation, the lack of protocols and messages such as that of "we have defeated the virus", which Sánchez pronounced after the confinement, have led Spain to be the worst country is managing the new wave.

Neither the communities advanced to the needs of the health system nor the Government has been able to define transparent epidemiological indicators and harmonized coordinates to avoid 17 ways of acting.

Added to the health crisis is the double economic and social crisis, aggravated by partisan polarization and the instability of the PSOE-Podemos coalition.

The outbreaks and the collapse of tourism, with the Budgets still in the air, leave Spain as a red lantern of recovery.

We are not going to come out stronger, as the Executive's propaganda indicates, but much weaker and more divided.
