The annual "Imoni-kai" This year, the drive-through method will be used at 20:02 on September 20, Yamagata.

Instead of Yamagata's autumn tradition of "Japan's No. 1 Imoni-kai," which was canceled due to the effects of the new corona virus, a drive-through event was held in Yamagata City to distribute Imoni.

The "Japan's No. 1 Imonikai", which makes imoni in a large pot with a diameter of about 6 meters, is an autumn tradition held every year on the riverbed in Yamagata City, but this was canceled for the first time due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

On the 20th, an event was held at the riverbed in Yamagata City to distribute imoni to people who made reservations in advance by a drive-through method due to voices regretting the cancellation.

The prepared imoni was 4000 servings, which was about 10% of last year. 500 kg of taro and 200 kg of beef were stewed in three pots with a diameter of about 2 meters, and the event staff divided them into containers for four people each.

At the venue, people who made reservations in advance lined up by car, and after the staff measured the temperature, they handed the imoni in a container.

A man in his 40s in Yamagata City who came to pick up Imoni said, "I'm sorry I was looking forward to eating Imoni in a large pot on the riverbed, but I'm grateful that you could do it in this way as well." ..
