The reporter learned from the Changbai Mountain Tianchi Meteorological Station on September 19 that after multiple rounds of snowfall, the main peak of Changbai Mountain Tianchi has formed the first snow cover since the beginning of autumn this year.
Meteorologists deiced the weather observation equipment against the cold wind.
On September 4, there was light rain and sleet on the main peak of Tianchi, which melted when it hit the ground without forming snow.
Since the night of the 15th, precipitation, heavy fog, and strong wind have appeared on the main peak of Tianchi, and the depth of snow on the 18th is 1 cm.
Currently, the snowfall is still ongoing.
Changbai Mountain is the birthplace of Yalu River, Songhua River and Tumen River.
Changbai Mountain Tianchi Meteorological Station has been designated as China's first-class arduous weather station.
