September 17 is the 120th birthday of Martyr Xia Minghan.
On the same day, Hengyang County, Hunan Province held a mass commemorative event for the 120th anniversary of Xia Minghan’s birth.
Xia Minghan, whose name is Guigen, was born in Hongshi Town, Hengyang County. He was born on August 25, 1900 (the first day of the eighth lunar month), and died bravely in Yujili, Hankou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province on March 20, 1928. He was 28 years old.
Before his execution, Xia Minghan wrote an impassioned poem that has been widely praised so far: "Beheading does not matter, as long as the principle is true. Kill Xia Minghan, and later generations!" Xia Minghan was a famous early revolutionary activity of the Communist Party of China. Home, a firm Marxist, and an outstanding communist fighter. In 2009, he was named one of "100 Heroes and Models Who Made Outstanding Contributions to the Founding of New China."
