China News Service, Hong Kong, September 18 (Reporter Shi Bingyun) On the 18th, the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government invited the media to visit the former North Kowloon Magistracy, which was once again included in the historic building revitalization plan after ten years.

The Office of the Commissioner for Heritage Conservation welcomes any creative design to continue to preserve the original historical, social and architectural value of the building.

In this phase of the plan, for the first time, interested institutions are required to submit applications in the form of a concept plan.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government launched the Revitalization of Historic Buildings Partnership Scheme in 2008, with the purpose of inviting organizations from all walks of life to revitalize their statutory monuments.

So far is the sixth issue.

The former North Kowloon Magistracy was built in the 1960s and has been in charge of trial cases in Kowloon until 2005.

In 2010, the building became an art academy in the first phase of the revitalization plan, and it was closed in June this year.

In August, the SAR government included it in the sixth phase of the historical building revitalization plan, and accepted applications from organizations from all walks of life before December 21.

On the 18th, Chen Weijian, the project manager of the Office of the Commissioner for Cultural Heritage of the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said in an interview with the media in the building that the authorities welcome any creative design to bid, and this time a new "concept plan" form application is added. Pay attention to fairness and give opportunities to some institutions that cannot quickly hand over technical charts.

Chen Weijian said that dozens of organizations are interested in participating, but it is not surprising compared with the number of regular applications.

According to Xian Yingjun, cultural relics director of the Antiquities and Monuments Office, the former North Kowloon Magistrates' Court building is a typical classic and simple building without complicated patterns, but with vertical lines and symmetry.

The most outstanding part is the internal three-story patio and the symmetrical staircase of outdoor granite.

When the reporter visited the court, he saw that the exterior of the building was completely preserved, such as gray exterior walls and blue high windows.

Inside the building, there are also preserved courts, prison passages, and prison rooms. The staircase railings of the halls on the first to second floors are designed with white irises, which is very beautiful.

Chen Haiyun, an architect of the Antiquities and Monuments Office, said that the Antiquities Office hopes that future institutions can continue to retain the original court elements and, if necessary, can also use the previously renovated facilities.
