The Akita District Court of the first instance sentenced him to 12 years in prison, saying, "Because I was near the scene at the time when it was estimated that the fire broke out, there is no contradiction in considering it as the defendant's crime."



On the other hand, the Akita branch of the Sendai High Court of the second trial said, "It cannot be said that entry is against the will of the apartment manager," and canceled the first trial and decided that he was not guilty of invading the mansion, but arson. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison following the first trial, saying that there was no mistake in the crime.



The defendant had appealed to this, but Judge Hiroyuki Kanno of the Second Small Court of the Supreme Court decided to dismiss by the 18th, and the sentence of 12 years in prison was finalized.
