Webtoon writer Joo Ho-min recently revealed his honest opinion on the successive webtoon controversies, such as Sak's'Helper' and Gian 84's'The King of Restoration'.

Earlier last month, the Naver webtoon'The King of Rehabilitation', which was being serialized by Gian 84, was engulfed in a controversy about dislike of women, and a national petition requesting to stop the serialization appeared.

In addition, the recent Naver webtoon'Helper' also announced the suspension of serialization due to the controversy about hating women and minorities.

Joo Ho-min said, "What do you think about the recent webtoon censorship situation?" during his live broadcast on Twitch TV today (18th), when asked by a netizen, "In the past, the state censored, but now the reader does it. “The era of civil dictatorship has opened.”

"This is a big problem," he added, adding that this is possible because of the idea that'you are morally superior.'

Ho-min Joo admits, "There have been comics that are of low quality and are out of common sense and human rights. Comics can express anything, but it is true that there are parts that cannot be touched." When they meet, they define it as savage and try to enlighten it."

"It's not because you're savage, but if you like me, these things get better", but just saying, "You're a savage person," he said. "If you apologize for the controversy, you don't have sincerity again. "It's fun so I keep raising controversy."

Finally, he concluded, "Probably this is going to get worse. Now, because citizens are censoring, I can't do anything. I'm drawing cartoons in difficult times," he concluded.

The reaction of netizens is rather cold.

The voices of criticism are being raised such as "Citizen's dictatorship seems to be frivolous in choosing the word" and "Can it be called censorship to raise the issue of hate speech?"
