Long live King T'Challa!

TF1 pays tribute this Sunday, September 20 to actor Chadwick Boseman, by broadcasting for the very first time unencrypted on French television the successful Marvel film,

Black Panther,

in which he played the lead role.

The first black superhero in the franchise, the American comedian died on August 28 at the age of 43, surrounded by his family, as a result of colon cancer, after four years of battle.

To continue working normally, Chadwick Boseman had not made public his illness and continued filming despite "countless surgeries and chemotherapy", revealed his relatives in a statement.

He thus appeared in

, turning for the representation of black culture, had generated more than a billion dollars in box office receipts.

Critically acclaimed, Chadwick Boseman was also to resume the role of T'Challa in the second opus scheduled for 2022. "Playing King T'Challa in

had been the greatest honor of his career", had also confirmed his family in the last post posted on the actor's social media accounts.

His passing moved the world, praising his commitments, his resilience in the face of cancer and his role as the first black superhero in film history, which inspired an entire generation.
