According to the new figures from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, which were obtained from the Swedish Public Employment Service, Stockholm County is the worst affected.

118 percent more are unemployed in the cultural industry compared to February this year.

This is followed by the counties of Halland and Västra Götaland.

- The restrictions have hit hard on activities that are dependent on audiences and there cultural and entertainment events are a very clear illustration of the problem.

It is quite obvious that a sector that has been stagnant since March will have a large number of unemployed, says Stefan Westerberg, chief economist at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.

The areas where unemployment has increased the least are Kalmar County and Västerbotten County.

- There are large volumes of people who have become unemployed and therefore it has been necessary to push for adjustment support and targeted cultural support.

It can currently preserve companies, ie the infrastructure for jobs, but I believe that it is only when the restrictions ease that people can return to work, says Stefan Westerberg in the press release.
