is hospitalized with pneumonia after contracting
Covid-19
, the lyrical star herself reported today on her Instagram account.
"
I have been in the hospital with covid pneumonia for
five days and
I will
soon begin to recover," the singer writes.
Netrebko explains that in the face of the
coronavirus
pandemic,
he did not want to stay home and fear becoming infected, but decided "to start working, traveling, acting at the risk of getting sick."
"I don't regret it," he says.
The diva, who will turn 49 this Friday, was going to play Isabel de Valois in the opera "Don Carlos" with her husband Yusif Eyvazov and Ildar Abdrazakov, among other stars.
The presentation of the opera, with which the
Bolshoi
restarted its activity, was canceled on the 10th after Abdrazakov contracted the coronavirus.
Netrebko explains in her message on Instagram that she isolated herself as soon as she felt she was sick, although the tests were negative.
