Despite the context of the health crisis, registrations of electric and hybrid vehicles continue to increase in France.

Sales of these two types of vehicles increased by 219% this summer compared to the same period last year, reports

Phonandroid

, according to figures published by the association for the development of electric mobility (Avere-France ).

In total, 15,572 electric vehicles were registered during the months of July and August, an increase of 198% compared to 2019. Hybrid vehicles, for their part, experienced an increase of 380% with 12,292 new registrations over this period.

Renault, Peugeot and Hyundai on the podium

According to the general delegate of Avere-France, Cécile Goubet, this shows “two things: on the one hand that the trend observed since the start of the year is sustained over time with three times more electrified vehicles put into circulation compared to the same period in 2019. On the other hand, that the model offering is sufficiently extensive and attractive to attract new users of electrified cars ”.

The three best-selling models are the Renault Zoé, the Peugeot e-208 and the Hyundai Kona.

The explosion of “green” vehicles is partly due to the introduction of purchasing aid by the government, like the ecological bonus or the conversion bonus.
