On September 15, Baipo Yi Township, Miyi County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan, suffered a mudslide disaster. The mudslides rushed into the central primary school and kindergarten of Baipo Township. Teachers and students were trapped in an emergency.

After the disaster occurred, the local government, emergency response and other departments quickly launched emergency plans, mobilized rescue forces to rush to the scene to rescue and transfer personnel.

Due to continuous heavy rains, mudslides rolled down the hills behind the school, blocking the travel of teachers and students, and also flooded into the school. Teachers, students and children were in urgent need of rescue and transfer.

In order to rescue and transfer the trapped persons as soon as possible, fire rescue personnel used bulldozers to enter schools and kindergartens, and escorted teachers and students to safe areas by erecting floating boards and other measures.

Because the kindergarten children are small, the fire rescue personnel can only carry the children on their backs, cross the mudslides, and escort them to a safe area.

313 teachers and students were rescued and transferred.

Among them, there are 218 students, 32 faculty members; 26 children and 4 faculty members in Baipo Kindergarten; another 17 villagers were rescued and transferred.

Currently, rescue work is still in progress.
