Manufacture of gold bars engraved with fake logo or arrest of 5 Chinese company officers September 16 22:20

Five Chinese company officers in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, were arrested for manufacturing gold bars engraved with a fake German precious metal brand logo.

Molds for making ingots have been seized from factories in Chiba prefecture, and police are investigating where to obtain the gold.

Five people were arrested, including an officer of a precious metal processing company in Yachimata City and a Chinese suspect, Lee Ji-ryong (56).

According to police, the five were suspected of violating trademark law last November, alleging that they made 20 gold bars engraved with the fake German precious metal brand logo at the company's factory.

From the factory, the molds for manufacturing the ingots and the equipment for engraving the logo were seized.

In addition, some of the counterfeit boards are resold at precious metal stores in Tokyo and then exported from Narita Airport to Hong Kong.

Police are investigating where to get the gold and the distribution channels for counterfeit bars.

Police have not disclosed the approval or disapproval of the five.
