France records 46 deaths and 10,000 new cases of contamination

The numbers continue to climb.

In the past 24 hours, France has recorded 46 additional deaths and nearly 10,000 new cases of coronavirus, Public Health France announced on Wednesday. 

According to the latest data, 9,748 new cases of contamination have been recorded since yesterday, or 1,896 more than Tuesday, bringing the total to 404,888 people infected.

A stable positivity rate

Hospitals have recorded 46 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, or 31,045 deaths since the start of the epidemic, including 20,517 in hospitals.

Over the past seven days, 2,976 new patients infected with the coronavirus have been hospitalized, including 508 in intensive care, where the most serious cases are being treated.

France now has 862 clusters under investigation, including 127 in nursing homes, or 77 more in 24 hours.

However, the test positivity rate remains stable at 5.4% on Wednesday.

Currently, 84 French departments are in a situation of high or moderate vulnerability.
