American singer Madonna will be working on a biopic about her life for Universal Pictures.

As noted by Variety, stars often tap into biopics about themselves and usually act as consultants and executive producers of such projects (as in the case of the films Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman).

However, Madonna's contribution will be more significant: she will take the director's chair, and together with Oscar winner Diablo Cody (Juno, Tully) will write the script for the film.

“I want to show that incredible journey, which is my life as an artist, performer, dancer - a person who is trying to break through in this world”, - quotes the singer Variety.

Madonna stressed that the main component of the film will be music.

The singer also promises to share with the audience many stories from her own life.

“The film will focus primarily on music.

Music gives me strength to move on, and art helps me live.

There are so many untold and inspiring stories to tell who else but me.

It is important that I talk about the roller coaster of my life, presenting my own voice and vision, ”says Madonna.

Also working on the project are Universal Filmed Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley and producers Sara Zambreno (WE Believe in Love), Guy Oseary (Twilight, Percy Jackson and the Olympians), Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Far from home ”,“ Venom ”).

The latter worked with Madonna on the 1992 project "Their Own League."

“For me, working on this film is a pleasure.

I have known Madonna since the time we were filming Their Own League, and I can’t imagine anything more exciting than taking part with her and Diablo on the big screens of recreating the true story of her life with Donna and our partners from Universal Pictures ", - said the producer.

The name of the film, the date of the premiere and the cast are still unknown.
