Kane Tanaka of Fukuoka City was born in 1897 and is the oldest person in Japan at 117 years old. In March of last year, she was certified as the "oldest person in the world in life" by the Guinness World Records.



Mr. Tanaka is living well in a welfare facility for the elderly in Fukuoka City, and on the 12th of this month, Fukuoka City gave him a bouquet and gifts to celebrate his longevity.
