On September 11, Martin Timell withdrew his lawsuit against the newspaper Expressen and the former editor-in-chief Thomas Mattsson.
He does not want to state the reason why the application was withdrawn.

Expressen was the first to name Martin Timell in connection with criminal charges against him during the metoo autumn 2017. He was acquitted of the charges in the Court of Appeal in 2019. Expressen, and several other media, have previously been convicted by the Press Opinion Board for violating good journalistic practice in their publications on the case.
