Here in Longshan, the water must be brought up from below, and if it is not easy to plant, this place will plant drought-tolerant trees like Populus euphratica and elms. These trees are better to plant.

It has a higher survival rate.

[Commentary] Wearing an old green military uniform, the Wang Chenggang kept shuttled through the mountains and forests, inspecting the growth of the trees.

He told reporters that he joined the army from Gansu to Xinjiang in 1956. When he first entered Xinjiang, he saw patches of Gobi desert. It was not until the car entered Hami that he finally saw the trees.

Since then, he has determined to plant a variety of trees in Xinjiang.

After retiring in 1988, he came to Korla Gardens Bureau and started the road of voluntary tree planting.

After Xinjiang came, it was always the Gobi Desert. There are no trees. Where there are no trees, there are no people. Where there are trees, there are people. Trees are the lifeline of Xinjiang people.

It is difficult to start planting trees without water and wind and sand. As soon as the wind blows, the trees blow away and die.

At that time, there was no grass and there was no grass. It was very difficult, just plant it.

After it is planted, it is watered again, and after it is watered, it is planted again after it dies, just planting one at a time.

[Explanation] Day after day, year after year, Wang Chenggang also learned a lot of knowledge about greening, and with the support of the Bureau of Landscape Architecture, he conducted cultivation experiments in the nursery.

During the epidemic, he worried that the trees in the field were not watered, and walked to the nursery alone, staying for a month.

There are tens of thousands of trees in Xiaomiao and Damiao. The epidemic situation in Xinjiang was closed. So I walked to the nursery to water and plant trees. I stayed for a month, a whole month.

My heart is on the tree, and I am not tired.

To become flowers in spring, shade in summer, fruits in autumn, and green in winter.

To achieve the "Four Haves", Korla can now achieve it.

[Explanation] As of the first half of 2020, Korla City has a forest area of 139,426.43 hectares, a forest area of 132,217.86 hectares, and a forest coverage rate of 19.33%.

Since the first tree was planted in Kurutag Mountain in the early 1980s, the city’s 3.1 million people (times) have volunteered to plant 110 million trees, building a green barrier around the city.

Wang Chengbang said that there are tens of thousands of volunteer tree planters like him, and afforestation needs to be passed on from generation to generation. In the future, he will continue to voluntarily plant trees with his family to make the city full of green.
