Aveyron is facing an upsurge in the number of coronavirus cases.

At the Séverac d'Aveyron nursing home, health authorities now count eight deaths among the 40 residents detected positive for the coronavirus.

On the business side, on Monday, the prefect of Aveyron, in consultation with the Regional Health Agency of Occitanie, decided to close the ADR slaughterhouse in Sainte-Radegonde.

On Sunday, several proven cases of Covid-19 were indeed confirmed among the employees of this establishment located east of Rodez.

Its doors should not reopen until Wednesday morning.

Until then, "a work of disinfection and internal organization with a view to resuming the economic activity of this structure as soon as possible", indicates a press release from the Aveyron prefecture.
