2020, one of the hottest summers

On Monday, minimum temperatures will range from 7 to 16 degrees over the northern half of the country, 14 to 22 in the south.

The maximums, still increasing in particular over the North and North-West, will vary between 30 and 36 degrees in general, locally 37 or 38 south of the Loire.

The weather will remain dry and generally sunny throughout the country.

We will note only a few persistent low cloud patches over Roussillon, and afternoon cumulus clouds over the alpine terrain, with a very low risk of downpours.

Tuesday, Météo-France forecasts between 31 and 34 degrees locally, with peaks at 36 degrees in the North-East.

"There is uncertainty for the future: temperatures may be maintained for a few days or there may be a stormy degradation which could lower them", according to forecasts.

France has just experienced a very hot summer, which "has been one of the hottest summers since the beginning of the 20th century," Météo-France recalls.
