China on Friday backed Disney's film Mulan, which is the subject of boycott calls following the filming of scenes in China's Xinjiang region, where Beijing is accused of human rights violations.

This blockbuster with a budget of 200 million dollars is inspired by a Chinese legend, that of a woman from ancient China disguising herself as a man in order to go to fight, replacing her aging father.
