Shochu made from sunflower seeds unveiled Manno Town, Kagawa September 11, 4:53

In Manno Town, Kagawa Prefecture, where sunflower seeds are revitalizing the region, shochu made from sunflower seeds was completed, and an unveiling party was held on the 10th.

In Manno Town, Kagawa Prefecture, around 1989, locals started planting sunflowers in fallow fields, and now the number has increased to 1 million, and the town is working to revitalize the area with sunflowers. I will.

The shochu made from sunflower seeds was completed over four months by a council made by towns and farmers who asked a sake brewer in the prefecture to make it, and it was shown at the town hall on the 10th.

Shochu is made by removing oil from sunflower seeds and fermenting it to finish it. It has a fragrant aroma and a smooth texture.

Shiro Sakai, a maker of shochu, said, "I think that the characteristics of the raw materials are well-balanced and the shochu is easy to drink. It was the first time, but I am relieved that it has been completed."

Mayor Takayoshi Kurita of Manno Town said, "I want to spread sunflower shochu all over the country. I want many people to drink it."

1500 bottles of shochu are sold at roadside stations and liquor stores in the town, and we hope to expand to supermarkets in Kagawa prefecture in the future.
