At present, the suspect Li Genshan and others have been criminally detained by the police according to law.

  Li Genshan’s wife introduced that Li Genshan was taken away by relevant law enforcement officers on the evening of September 7. She usually did not find Li Genshan any illegal or criminal activity.

  Prior to media reports, Li Genshan had repeatedly reported environmental issues and participated in reporting the pollution incident of the former Ningxia Meili Paper Group Co., Ltd. in the Tengger Desert.

  In March this year, Zhongwei City notified that the above-mentioned pollution incident involved 120,000 square meters of 14 plots in Meili Forest District.

According to the results of the investigation, Zhongwei City will pursue relevant responsibilities for the 9 responsible persons of the involved enterprises and 2 responsible persons of the supervisory department in accordance with regulations and disciplines.
