A third-party committee in Okinawa Prefecture, which is verifying the fire that broke out at Shurijo Castle in Naha City last year, was a security guard who assumed a nighttime fire against the background of the fire extinguishing activities not being carried out promptly at that time. It turned out that I compiled an interim report that there was a lack of education and training in Okinawa.

The third-party committee is asking the prefecture to review its management system.

In response to a large-scale fire at Shurijo Castle in Naha City last October, the administrator, Okinawa Prefecture, set up a third-party committee consisting of lawyers and fire prevention specialists to set up a fire. We are proceeding with verification of the above and examination of measures to prevent recurrence.

The interim report of this third-party committee was compiled, and the background to the fact that fire extinguishing activities were not carried out promptly at that time was the lack of education and training of security guards assuming a nighttime fire, and the division of roles and information. Interviews with related parties revealed that sharing was inadequate.

Specifically, when the security company called the fire department, it was not enough to explain the details of the fire and the fact that multiple gates were locked before entering the scene.

Based on such a situation, the interim report requests the prefecture to review the management system.

The interim report of the third-party committee will be submitted to Governor Tamaki on the 11th.

Regarding the cause of the fire at Shurijo Castle, the police have announced the results of an investigation that it was not possible to identify the cause of the fire, although there was no incident such as arson and there was a high possibility of an electrical system trouble.
