  Since Lei Lei became ill, the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center has organized experts and veterinarians to treat Lei Lei many times, and arranged for keepers on duty 24 hours to provide targeted special care.

On September 9, Leilei had a persistent seizure, which caused respiratory and circulatory failure. After full treatment, he died.

  The giant panda "Leilei" was rescued in Leibo County, Liangshan Prefecture in 1992. It is assumed that he was born in 1989.

The giant panda "Lei Lei" is a heroic mother. Although her forefoot is missing due to injuries in the wild, she has always lived optimistically and strongly. She has nurtured 5 cubs in her life, including the giant panda Yuanyuan who was gifted to Taiwan.
