Deputy Minister of Finance Per Bolund (S) and Minister of Culture Amanda Lind (MP) today presented budget investments in culture, as part of the ordinary autumn amendment budget.

Culture gets 3.4 billion.

Among other things, the cultural schools, which have long been financially tough in many parts of the country, will receive SEK 200 million over the next three years.

The library's operations will also be strengthened by SEK 150 million in 2021, and thereafter SEK 75 million over the next two years.

Extra crisis support of 1.5 billion

At the same time as the regular budget initiatives were presented, word came of an additional crisis support of SEK 1.5 billion that will come to cultural life in part in 2020. The money will go to the free cultural life and distributed by institutions in the cultural sector, including the Cultural Council.

- We will continue to work hard for how we can get through the corona, we have many challenges ahead but this is an important addition, says Amanda Lind (MP).
