The setbacks accumulate for R. Kelly.

On Tuesday, the Second Circuit Court of Appeal rejected the singer's request to be released on bail pending trial.

Lawyers for the R & B star were alarmed that their client had not been able to see them in person since last March, six months, and that they were not able to prepare for his trial.

But the court appears to have been persuaded by the arguments of prosecutors, who said the singer posed "a potential danger to the community".

Not to mention that he would risk escaping, according to arguments relayed by CNN.

This is the sixth time that R. Kelly and his legal team have applied for bail.

Sixth refusal, therefore.

Steve Greenberg, who does what he can to defend the interpreter of

, once again declared himself "disappointed" by this decision which he seems not to really understand.

“I feel like there are different criteria when it comes to R. Kelly,” he told CNN.

Earlier this month, R. Kelly was assaulted by another inmate in Chicago Federal Prison where he is being held.

Jeremiah Farmer has claimed he felt pressured to go after the star to draw attention to his case.

An attack which was clearly not enough to move the judges, who decided that R. Kelly would remain in the shade until the start of his trial.

The singer is being prosecuted in Chicago for possession of child pornography images and obstruction of justice.

He is also to be tried in New York for racketeering and sex trafficking.
