It is the first Breton high school to close its doors since the start of the school year.

In Redon (Ille-et-Vilaine), the Saint-Sauveur high school will not open its classrooms this Wednesday.

Tuesday evening, the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine decided to order the closure of the school, after the discovery of several cases of Covid-19.

According to the prefecture, three teachers and two students have been diagnosed positive for the coronavirus.

The investigation carried out by the National Education, the diocesan direction of Catholic education and the Brittany Regional Health Agency (ARS) identified 27 people as "high risk" contact cases.

They were all placed in solitary confinement for fourteen days to prevent any risk of contagion.

If the prefect Michèle Kirry asked for the closure of the establishment, it is "with regard to the risk of the virus circulating within the establishment".

But also because many members of the management of the establishment are considered as contact cases "which no longer allowed the proper functioning of the establishment", specifies the prefecture.

The establishment will be closed from Wednesday 9 September until Tuesday 22 September inclusive.

"Educational continuity will be ensured at a distance from this Wednesday for all classes", state the state services.

The circulation of the coronavirus is more and more active in Ille-et-Vilaine, which has seen its incidence rate (the number of sick people among the population) rise in recent weeks.

The prefecture is expected to announce restrictive measures on Wednesday to try to contain the epidemic.
