Vincent Cassel, Florence Foresti, Bérénice Bejo and François Damiens “The happiness of some” by Daniel Cohen -

SND

  • In “The Happiness of One”, Bérénice Bejo plays a novelist whose sudden success makes her best friend, Florence Foresti, mad with jealousy.

  • Vincent Cassel and François Damiens play their husbands in this successful comedy.

  • The two actresses, accomplices in the city, evoke the hazards of celebrity for "20 Minutes".

How would you react if your erased best friend suddenly became a literary star?

This question is the central theme of The

Happiness of One

by Daniel Cohen, inspired by his play

The Floating Island.

Florence Foresti, Vincent Cassel and François Damiens camp the relatives of a novelist surprised by a stunning success, played by Bérénice Bejo.

The two actresses have forged a solid bond since the shooting of a film which sees the meanness of the character of Florence Foresti dull on the softness of that of Bérénice Bejo.

The two are perfectly complementary in this fine study of a human nature not always very brilliant but often very amusing.

It is masked that they answered the questions of

20 Minutes

.

Does this movie match your celebrity reality?

Bérénice Bejo: Of course and that's what I liked!

When you are known, people don't see you the same way anymore, if you haven't changed.

It's up to you to get out of the way so that you are seen as a normal person.

Florence Foresti: I have experienced everything that the character of Bérénice faces, the little crap, the wickedness, the jealousy.

It was a form of conspiracy to play the part of the plague who cannot accept the success of his friend.

Do you never take a big head when you are successful?

FF.

Success does not work for everyone, it's true!

The scene has a great way to get your ideas right if you start playing it and don't work.

A good little belly very painful in front of an audience that does not laugh quickly wakes you up!

The public reminds me that nothing is ever won.

BB: Nobody wants to have a big head!

But sometimes we realize that we have sometimes mismanaged a situation or that we have not worked hard enough.

The artistic professions do not give gifts and reality can have a very brutal way of sobering up you.

You have to be vigilant because many people dream of taking your place.

Is it difficult to live as a couple when you are famous?

FF: Men are not always ready to accept that a woman earns more money or is more famous than them.

I remember guys telling me that they would never date me for this reason and because I have a big mouth.

Fortunately, there are men who are good enough in their manhood to accept a woman like me.

BB: The couple that I form with Vincent Cassel in the film is a metaphor for society.

The one which shows that some men are still clinging to a traditional model and that they do not feel armed to manage a strong woman.

Not all are like that!

There are very good ones.

It is important to point out this in our time when men are taking it all in.

Did it happen to you also to take your face in the media?

BB: I'm not on social media and I avoid reading reviews.

But, like my character in the film, there is always someone to come and tell me about the crap they say about me!

I try not to pay attention to it.

FF: The truth is, I don't care.

I do not seek the admiration of those who put me in the mouth, Yann Moix or Frédéric Beigbeder.

I am proud of what I did to the Caesars because I really didn't think Roman Polanski would be nominated and even less that he would win!

What I find unfortunate is that we will probably soon remove the masters and mistresses of ceremonies to avoid any controversy.

Humor has become a matter to be handled with too much delicacy.
