Shari Town has been the number one salmon catch in Japan for 17 consecutive years, and set net fishing for salmon started on the 8th.



Early in the morning, 15 ships leaving the Utoro fishing port in Shari-cho pulled up a set net set off Shiretoko for 7 days, then returned to the port one after another at 7:30 am and landed salmon.



Also, in the space where you can observe the landing that was cleaned on the 7th, visitors took pictures of the powerful landing.



A local woman in her 20s who visited the landing said, “The landing was powerful. I felt familiar when I saw the salmon that I usually eat.”



Tatsu Yonezawa, chairman of the Utoro Fisheries Cooperative's salmon emplacement group, said, "I have the impression that the amount and size are about the same as the average year. I have been unfishing, so I would like to rewind."



Set net fishing for salmon reaches its peak from late September to early October and continues until mid-November.
